NIAA Three-Point Scale of Research Engagement

Where are you on the NIAA's three-point scale of research engagement?

The National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) works to improve patient care through research and innovation by translating research findings in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine into clinical practice.

We are here to encourage and support our research-interested colleagues to engage in research and can help wherever you are on that journey.

Are you...

Research Aware?

  • Aware of current research in your area of interest and upcoming developments
  • Reading relevant journals / subscribing to news updates from relevant organisations to keep your knowledge up to date
  • Incorporating the knowledge you have gained with day-to-day practice where appropriate.

Interested?

  • Then check the NIAA homepage and follow us @NIAAResearch for news updates from the NIHR, Wellcome Trust, AMRC and others.
  • Register to attend one of our Research Methodology Workshops or Introduction to Academic Anaesthesia courses to learn more about the principles of research

If

Research Ready

then you will be ...

  • In touch with your Local Clinical Research Network and/or trainee-led research network to find out about opportunities for engagement
  • Aware of good practice when conducting research studies i.e. principles of data confidentiality and information governance.
