Clinical Lecturer in Anaesthesia

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Lecturer in Anaesthesia within the School of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, the College of Medical and Dental Sciences at the University of Birmingham.

Applicants should have been appointed to a speciality training programme in Anaesthesia either as single-CCT training or in Dual programme with ICM.

The post provides the opportunity for academic training in basic science, translational, clinical or health services research in parallel with clinical training in Anaesthesia and in a partner speciality, and experience in teaching. The appointee will be expected to contribute significantly to the established research and education programmes of the School, linking the specialities of Anaesthesia and ICM to clinical and/or health services research; infection, inflammation, immunomodulation; and trauma and regeneration. The post attracts specialist trainee status (NTN), with the clinical components of training as part of the West Midlands Anaesthesia and ICM speciality programmes. Clinical training will be based predominantly at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HoEFT) and may rotate to University Hospital NHS Trust Birmingham (UHB) according to training and research needs.

Starting salaries will be in the range of £30,685 to £53,132 a year. This post is for 4 years (or CCT date plus six months)
