| Research Interest | Cardiovascular physiology. I am currently doing a project looking at the role of the carotid body in the development of hypertension. In particular we are comparing peripheral chemosensitivity during exercise in hypertensives vs controls. I am also interested in exercise physiology and the role of exercise in pre-op optimisation of patients. |
| Research Expertise | Exercise testing in conjunction with peripheral chemosensitivity of the carotid body: hypoxia and dopamine testing along with muscle sympathetic nerve activity. |
| Research Areas | Anyone interested in the carotid body in autonomic diseases and how it is affected by anaesthesia. The role of studying exercise physiology in peri-operative optimisation. |
