NIAA Update: August 2015



It may be holiday time but we still have lots of NIAA news to bring you! Here are the latest items that didn't quite make last week's newsletter:


Vacancy: Director of the Health Services Research Centre

Applications are invited for the position of Director to the NIAA's Health Services Research Centre (HSRC).

This post is a three year fixed term appointment to direct, manage, develop and deliver the aims and objectives of the HSRC in line with its strategic plan, ethos and policies.

The postholder will be required to provide strategic and operational leadership for the HSRC and to chair the monthly HSRC Executive Management Board meetings, providing oversight and governance for HSRC activities.

NIAA Grants: Round 2

The NIAA is pleased to announce that Round 2 2015 is now open and that grants are available from the following funding partners:

  • British Journal of Anaesthesia/Royal College of Anaesthetists
  • British Society of Orthopaedic Anaesthetists

Events and Meetings

Introduction to Academic Anaesthesia: 14-15 September 2015

The annual London based Introduction to Academic Anaesthesia Course will run on the 14th and 15th of September at Senate House. The meeting is aimed at those wishing to gain a greater understanding of academic anaesthesia. There will be sessions by leading experts and trainees experienced in research methods on subjects including improvement science, randomised trials, health services research, epidemiology, systematic reviews, how to prepare a poster and how to get published.
