MIDAS, Microvascular Imaging During Abdominal Surgery

Summary: Intraoperative algorithm based GDT trial aiming to recruit 220 patients having elective rectal or cystectomy with ileal conduit. This study explores some of the hypotheses generated by our COMPETE C investigation. There is a translational element: perioperative imaging of the capillary circulation to investigate differences between GDT & control, aerobically fit and unfit patients. Recruitment commenced in March 2011.
